The Dao

The Dao

The verses share a lifeblood
thousands of years traveling
on invisible wire
like a squirrel scampering
from pole to pole

The magnetic earth has shifted
and our souls bleat for stability
the opposites so strong
that
black is never white
red is never blue
the mixing of colors impossible
the substance forbidding emulsion

What if we look more closely again
at these pages of archaic contemplation
can we explain it

I rise in the air and glide as if on a raft
to find the revelation
I keep searching for within the brittle pages

There are other people
who need to read this
if they try to comprehend what’s here
maybe things will get better.
