Illustration: From Beginning to End
I hate beginning things. A blank sketchbook that waits for its first mark, a blank screen of words ready to be typed with stories – I’m awful at it. I doodled a little sketch strip on the bus, on my way to my first ever job interview. It’s another something that I began so easily, with no idea what to expect next, and slowly, I’m trying to learn from that. I’m trying to understand that beginnings aren’t as a big of a deal as I make them out to be – I just have to take things one step at a time.
A leaf/mandala print: The leaves are a representation of a new beginning, a visualisation of the growth in nature. The background circular shapes of the mandala presents the dream of a circular beginning. The idea that no matter what point you are in your life, beginnings are inevitable – a circle of life, beginnings creating endings, and endings creating beginnings.
